Bring shimmering beauty to your pond or aquarium with our Kabuki Blue Medaka ricefish. Selectively bred in the USA for metallic blue outer light backs and hardy genetics. Great for outdoor tubs, nano tanks, or indoor water gardens.
Kabuki Blue Japanese Ricefish (Medaka), bred in the US. The fish are freshwater, cold and warm water hardy, and peaceful, making them suitable for beginners. The product is of high quality and is ideal for those looking to start breeding medaka. The fish shown in the pictures are the breeding stock and of high quality. I have been breeding these in the USA for about 4 years.
The Kabuki Lineage: Originally developed in Japan by Okazaki Aoi Medaka, the "Kabuki" strain was named for its dramatic, high-contrast colors that resemble traditional Japanese theatre costumes. The Kabuki Blue variant specifically highlights a brilliant, icy-blue metallic stripe (taigaikō) that runs down the back of a dark body. For the best viewing experience, keep them in a dark tub and view them from above!
